According to BLT WORLD specialists, the use of radial telescopic conveyors is the most efficient method to stockpile material, as this system makes huge volume stockpiles with no segregation.

“Our research shows that these telescopic conveyors offer approximately 30% more stockpile capacity on the same footprint when stockpiling in a trapezoidal shape, compared with the use of standard conveyors,” says Ken Mouritzen, managing director, BLT WORLD. “Most importantly, stockpiling conveyors are designed not to separate material in stockpiles.”

Standard features of this system include an automatic stockpiling programme, with a stockpiling capacity up to 1 500 t/h, widths of 650 mm, 800 mm, 1 000 mm and 1 200 mm, electric drivers and double planetary gears to efficiently power radial movement.

Optional equipment includes a remote-control facility, metal heavy-duty tracks, a diesel generator, hydraulic drives, an aspiration system and belt covers.

These advanced conveyor belt systems are available throughout Africa from BLT WORLD, which provides an assessment and solutions service to all sectors, for planning and implementing bulk handling projects. A technical advisory and support service enhance performance of every system.

BLT WORLD’s extensive portfolio of bulk handling equipment also includes material feeders, link conveyors and eco-hoppers, as well as mobile shiploaders. The company also distributes trommel screens and apron feeders for mineral processing and recycling applications.
