THE KIA K-SERIES… when the going gets tough

The K-Series (the K2700 and K2500) have for the past decade shown to be some of the most versatile and most durable among light commercial vehicles in this class. And as with the rest of KIA’s range of award-winning passenger vehicles, the K-Series has several aces up its beefy sleeves.

One of the K2700’s key selling features is its 1,3-ton payload capacity, which gives it a notable edge over conventional one-ton LCVs due to the optimised cost-per-kilometre. What’s more is that, apart from the extra permissible weight, it also features a 4,73m² load space (2 810mm long and 1 630 mm wide) that allow even more flexibility and versatility. Added convenience comes in the form of its drop-side configuration, which makes loading and off-loading super easy.

KiaBusinesses requiring flexibility in their fleet can benefit from the K2700, as it’s also available as a tipper and a chassis- cab, with single or dual wheels on the rear axle. A variety of canopies are available for the K2700, and conversions to include refrigeration are also on offer.

But it’s not just the K2700’s versatility and low cost-per-kilometre that adds value to businesses; low running costs are also crucial. Powered by a 2,7-litre naturally aspirated diesel engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, the K2700 is strong enough to haul any load without sacrificing power and without incurring exorbitant maintenance costs. Notably, K2700 operators will appreciate its comfortable and practical interior.

Kia‘s  engineers have prioritised occupant comfort to help combat driver fatigue, with seats designed to provide maximum comfort and support for people of all shapes and sizes.

These seats feature extra thick cushions in the seat back and bottom of the driver’s seat, while the centre seat back also folds down to provide occupants with drinks holders and a flat tray for documents. A veritable mobile office on wheels, the K2700 also features a large, 11-litre cubbyhole and ample extra stowage space in strategic areas.

KIA’s equally renowned K2500 is similar in appearance to the K2700, but distinguished by a colour-coded front bumper. The one-ton K2500 is especially suited to SMMEs who may not require the K2700’s 1,3-ton payload capacity. The K2500 is powered by a 2,5-litre turbocharged common rail diesel engine and a 6-speed manual transmission.

The biggest bonus from the K-Series is undoubtedly the peace of mind that comes standard with each KIA vehicle.

Kia2Both K-Series models feature specification levels that cover all of the essentials without excessive frills, the focus instead on providing customers with a significant value offering. KIA Motors is renowned for offering its customers exceptional value for money.

With its competitive pricing, which includes a 5-year/150 000km warranty, a 3-year/60 000km service contract and three years of unlimited roadside assistance, the biggest bonus from the K-Series is undoubtedly the peace of mind that comes standard with each KIA vehicle.
