Sweet MAN deal on new parts for old

AN Automotive has introduced ecotrade – their parts ‘ex- change’ programme – where customers can get up to 25% off on the new part provided the old MAN part handed in is salvageable, qualifies with set criteria and can be returned to the OEM for recycling.

Add to this a 2-year warranty on the new part, and customers have a sweet deal. The ecotrade programme was introduced in March this year to provide customers with added benefits for using genuine parts, fitted by an approved MAN workshop.

MAN ecotrade covers the most important parts for any of their vehicles. To date around 200 selected parts are included, such as engines, blocks, cylinder heads, turbochargers, injectors fuel pumps, cooling water pumps, starters and generators, air compressors, gear- boxes, clutch plates and clutch discs.

With this value-added opportunity, MAN operators benefit by having fewer downtime thanks to less repair time at an approved workshop. It also provides an extended life for vehicles out of warranty because the part is original equipment and, since June this year, carries its own 2-year warranty.

The ecotrade offering applies equally to MAN’s Top Used vehicles – pre-owned vehicles graded and resold through the Top Used dealerships. The programme is supported through the six MAN-owned dealerships, as well as the 19 private dealers and service centres.

Parts managers at the various MAN service centres have been fully trained to assess the part core which is being returned for the discount. This assessment determines whether the ecotrade programme will apply, and includes qualifying criteria such as genuine part, identification of the part, no disassembly, no corrosion and no damage, and cleanliness.

The ecotrade programme and the extended parts warranty allow operators to benefit from MAN’s long-term commitment

Combined with tailor-made MAN maintenance packages, the ecotrade programme and the extended parts warranty allow operators to benefit from MAN’s long-term commitment to providing price advantages throughout the year.

MAN Automotive has taken their holistic approach to the aftermarket business – service, parts and maintenance – even further by extending their service offering to include a discount from 20% off parts and labour on jobs carried out at participating MAN dealerships for any truck older than six years. This is cleverly branded as the MAN ‘Senior Truck’ programme.

MAN operators of older trucks are encouraged to make use of all the aftermarket offerings to gain substantial overall discounts, as well as the peace of mind and convenience of having their MAN ‘senior’ trucks serviced and supported by accredited technicians.

Until the end of August MAN truck operators can enjoy another discount of around 10% on MAN genuine leaf springs, slack adjusters, drum brakes, exhaust silencers, brakes, pressure valves and belt tensioner kits.

The strategy behind MAN’s strong focus on their aftermarket business is to convince MAN truck owners of the cost of operation benefit, the convenience of a single service and maintenance point, and the assurance of further safe and reliable operation of the truck.
