Young Talent Career Commencement of Training at MAN

Over 600 young talents start their careers with training at MAN

More than 600 youths from across 15 nations are beginning their vocational training within the MAN Group in September. Apart from the sites in Germany, Austria, and Turkey, new trainees from Poland will also be reinforcing the headcount for the first time: 16 trainees for automotive mechatronics will be learning their trade in Starachowice.

At MAN Truck & Bus AG in Munich, Josef Schelchshorn, Chief Human Resources Officer, welcomed 152 new vocational trainees. “Both vocational training and the Company not only have a long and successful tradition but nowadays also secure our corporate competitiveness in terms of employees,” Mr. Schelchshorn said.

“In view of demographic change and the shortage of skilled workers, successful training is an important foundation to secure and further develop the high quality of our products and services.”

The high-school graduates were able to choose from 20 technical and eight commercial training disciplines at MAN. A welcome trend from the past few years is still ongoing in the technical training disciplines: The percentage of women continues to increase. In addition, chances of being hired after the trainee-ship are very high, too.

Last year’s graduates excelled at federal, regional, and commercial-chamber levels in their individual training disciplines, underscoring the high quality of vocational training at MAN. Contributing factors to this success are several hundred internships that MAN offers every year; these internships will also continue to convey to students a positive and sustained image of the Company.
