December safety blitz targets festive road deaths

MasterDrive is launching its ‘December Driver Safety Campaign,’ valued at over R40 000 in prizes and benefits. Customers booking for the December festive period enter the running to win a glamping holiday, cash prizes, and premium safety sessions—showing appreciation for organisations prioritising employee safety during the year’s deadliest month on the roads.
The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says: “It’s designed to incentivise organisations to prioritise driver safety ahead of December’s historically high road fatality rates, while providing significant additional value.

Training drivers before the holiday rush equips them with skills to navigate congested roads and unpredictable driver behaviour. This not only enhances safety but also reduces on-road stress, helping employees return refreshed and ready for the new year.

Every December, we witness the same preventable tragedies. “Companies face mounting pressure for year-end deliveries while road conditions become exponentially more dangerous with additional motorists on the road.
“The campaign addresses both realities—making it financially compelling to invest in driver safety when employees need it most. When businesses prioritise proactive training over reactive crisis management, they don’t just protect drivers but safeguard operations,” says Herbert.
Prizes up for grabs
Organisations booking 10 or more drivers for Defensive Driver Training during December 2025 automatically qualify, receiving:

Entry into the triple prize draw (R18 000 total value):

* Grand Prize: Glamping Adventure Holiday (R8 000) including luxury tented accommodation, full board, curated experiences, and 12-month redemption flexibility
* Two R5 000 gift vouchers redeemable for MasterDrive training services
Every 10 drivers trained equals one prize draw entry. For example, training 30 drivers results in three entries, tripling the odds.
Complimentary Lunch & Learn Safety sessions (up to R25 000 value)

Qualifying companies select from two specialised 1-hour virtual sessions:

1. When seconds matter: mastering December’s deadliest roads – addressing December-specific hazards including fatigue recognition, distraction management, and critical hazard identification
2. Hijack Awareness and Prevention: staying safe in 2026- covering suspicious behaviour recognition, high-risk situation awareness, and response protocols as drivers return to predictable routes in January
Companies training 20 or more drivers, will receive both sessions.
Addressing complete safety
MasterDrive’s dual-focus approach recognises that fleet safety includes security awareness. “There is increased sophistication in vehicle hijackings, which will likely worsen as drivers return to predictable patterns.
“South African Police Service data shows consistent vehicle crime patterns targeting fleet operators, making the hijack prevention session a timely addition to corporate safety programs,” says Herbert.
Organisations interested in the December Driver Safety Advantage program can obtain detailed information, pricing, and booking assistance by contacting MasterDrive directly on 086 110 0618 or emailing info@masterdrive.co.za <mailto:info@masterdrive.co.za>
Valid from 2 to 19 December 2025, with a firm booking deadline. Lunch & Learn sessions delivered virtually.
