DigiCars Group Captivates DealerCon 2025 with Innovation, AI, and South Africa’s First Chery Humanoid Robot

DigiCars Group delivered one of the most innovative and engaging showcases at Cars.co.za DealerCon 2025, held last week at the Sandton Convention Centre. As a sponsor of the event, the group’s exhibition stand combined automotive excellence, cutting-edge technology, and human connection to position itself as a leader in the future of automotive retail. At the heart of the DigiCars stand was Mornine, Chery’s groundbreaking bipedal humanoid robot developed in partnership with technology leader Aimoga.

Mornine represents Chery’s vision for artificial intelligence and human interaction in automotive retail and beyond. Built with a biomimetic design that mimics human facial expressions and movement, Mornine combines Embodied AI with a Large Language Model (LLM) to deliver human-like conversations, guidance, and customer assistance.

DigiCars Group became the first Chery dealership group in South Africa to showcase Mornine at a public event, attracting record foot traffic and industry buzz throughout the day.  Alongside Mornine, the AI Photo Booth was a major hit, transforming guests into professional racing avatars for share-worthy social media moments. The armoured vehicle door display, complete with ballistic samples, also drew curiosity and sparked conversations around safety and innovation.

The event also provided the perfect platform for existing referrers and clients to meet the DigiCars leadership team in person for the first time, strengthening relationships across the automotive network. Speaking on Panel Discussion 3: “Learnings from Challengers and Disruptors”, DigiCars Group CEO Dawood Olgar shared insights on the group’s digital transformation journey and customer engagement philosophy:

It’s a very exciting space to be in right now. There’s been lots of innovation and disruption, and we look forward to it and embrace it, that’s one of the reasons why we’re here today.

Olgar highlighted the importance of strategic content and digital touchpoints in modern automotive retail, “You have to connect with your clients before the sale. You have to connect with them through social media, on Google, but it can’t just be generic content. It has to be strategically placed content that resonates with the consumer. It’s about understanding the right content and who your ideal or potential customer is.”

The success of DigiCars Group at DealerCon 2025 reinforces its reputation as a leader in the automotive sector, combining customer-centric experiences, AI-powered innovations, and future-ready retail strategies.

With a strong presence across Chery Sandton & Northcliff, Omoda Jaecoo Sandton & Melrose Arch, and Armoured Mobility, DigiCars Group continues to set benchmarks for customer experience, marketing innovation, and dealership excellence.
