Fleet Safety Awards 2026: an evening to remember

On 26 November, MasterDrive will host the gala awards evening of the 5th Annual Fleet Safety Awards, the day South Africa’s fleet industry comes together to celebrate excellence and innovation in road safety. The event honours the organisations and individuals setting the standard for safer roads, and the people who make it happen every day.

The programme begins at 13:30 with a networking reception and a selection of unique activations. The Awards follow at 15:00, with the ceremony and formal dinner service offering a rare chance to connect with fellow safety advocates, industry pioneers and business leaders, all in one room.

The line-up offers plenty to look forward to. The Managing Director of Commercial and Brand at MasterDrive, Nishani Chetty, says industry leaders will deliver keynote presentations on emerging road safety trends and notable developments.

“Additionally, the headline partners will participate in a panel discussion on ‘Local roads, local answers: how South African innovation is making fleets safer.’

“The day’s line-up will also include a few words from one of the distinguished members of the judging panel. Our gratitude goes to the judges and the organisations they represent: RMI, the RTMC, the RAF, the AFP, the RSP-SA, the Truck Man, Standard Bank, MasterDrive and SafeHorizons Solutions. Following this, the 2026 Fleet Safety Awards will be presented to the fleets and individuals leading the way in promoting road safety.”

The Event

The evening itself has been designed to match the occasion.

“Guests will enjoy a four-course meal, an exclusive audience prize giving with coveted prizes, and a closing gesture that has become a MasterDrive trademark: the much-loved swag bag filled with quality gifts, which guests take home.”

CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says the interest in this year’s awards is again, remarkable.

“To ensure we meet this demand, we have chosen a larger venue to accommodate it. Those who would like to join us in addition to the invited guest list of winners, speakers, judges and industry leaders, can now purchase a ticket.

“The ticket price is structured to cover the dinner, providing access to a premium four-course dining experience in good company. The rest of the experience, from the programme to the activations, prizes and swag bags is our gift to you”

says Herbert.

The activations are a highlight. One of these is a dedicated coffee experience, while your entrance will simulate your own red carpet photo moment, or you can step in front of the 360-degree camera, and much more throughout the evening.

Most importantly, the gala evening offers the perfect backdrop for the networking this event is known for. Conversations started over coffee or on the red carpet often grow into valuable partnerships long after the final award was handed out.
