HAVAL H6 HEV – a finalist in the prestigious 2023 Car of the Year Awards

HAVAL Motors in South Africa (HMSA) is delighted with selection by the jurors of the South African Guild of Mobility Journalists (SAGMJ) of the HAVAL H6 Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) as a finalist in the coveted 2023 Car of the Year (COTY) competition.

“Being part of the GWM group – one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world – HAVAL is the Chinese brand that has been committed to the South African market the longest – for the past 16 years!” says Conrad Groenewald, Chief Operations Officer of HAVAL Motors South Africa.

“Although HAVAL has been collecting multiple motoring accolades globally, the new HAVAL H6 HEV is our first HEV to be nominated and its inclusion is a milestone in the rise to prominence of the HAVAL brand in the local market.” He added that HAVAL’s rise to a top 10 sales performer is further testimony of the quality experience and enjoyment of the HAVAL brand among South African motorists,

“We are particularly proud of this accolade, as it reflects the maturing confidence in the HAVAL brand and the comprehensive and world-class product line-up we are offering,” says Groenewald. “’HAVAL now consistently ranks among the top players in national vehicle sales and is a leader in NEV technology with our ORA brand and HAVAL Hybrid Energy Vehicle models.

It is only fitting that the HAVAL H6 HEV – as an example of our advanced NEV technology – was chosen as a finalist in the fast growing New Energy Category.”

He adds, “We are confident that the H6 HEV, with its mix of a powerful turbo petrol engine and electric motor, resulting in less pollution with lower CO2 emissions, more performance and a decreased combined fuel consumption of only 5.2L/100km, will impress the SAGMJ jurors and the buying public as they experience the amazing class-leading features of our brand.”

The HAVAL H6 HEV is powered by a responsive 1,5 Turbo Petrol Hybrid engine

that generates 179kW and a potent 530Nm of torque. The advanced 2-Speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) that manages the impressive torque launch, ensures a smooth, exhilarating and quiet driving experience.

The futuristic exterior styling of the H6 HEV, with its pronounced front grille, LED Headlights and Gloss Black Accents to the Sports Rear Spoiler and Panoramic Sunroof, and its 225/55 R19 Sports Alloy Wheels, set the H6 HEV apart from the other models in the H6 range. Inside, the H6 HEV comes full-house with luxury styling and features such as Smart Keyless Entry, a modern 10.25 Inch Colour Combination Instrument, 12.3” Colour Multi-Touch Screen and customisable Head-Up Display – features often only found in vehicles with double the price tag.

The HAVAL H6 HEV is all about smart safety as well, featuring no fewer than 7 Airbags, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, and a 360-Degree Camera with a Panoramic View, with several other innovative safety advancements, including Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Door Open Warning (DOW), Lane Keep Steering (LKS), Electronic Stability System (ESC), Full Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).

The HAVAL H6 HEV is also a winner when it comes to price and peace of mind, as it comes with a comprehensive 5 year/60 000 km Service Plan, 5 year/100 000km Warranty and an 8 year/150 000km Hybrid Battery Warranty. The HAVAL H6 HEV’s pricing starts from R669 950.
