Linde Material Handling has shown that the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Five years have passed since its Linde H70Ds were delivered to the PPC de Hoek site and, only now, after 8 000 hours of usage, the vehicles’ first tyres have been replaced.
Linde mainly attributes this achievement to its “virtually maintenance-free direct hydrostatic drive”, which plays a major part in the reduction of tyre wear.

‘The virtually maintenance-free direct hydrostatic drive delivers seamless acceleration, reversing and precision load handling. In fact, there simply isn’t a better alternative to Linde’s forklifts’ unique engine and transmission combination. Others have tried, but after 50 years of continual improvement, our engineers have elevated their hydrostatic drive system to a level of performance which puts it in a class of its own,’ says Shelldon Uys, Regional Manager, Western Cape, Linde Material Handling.
Additional features built into every model, including exceptional ergonomics that minimise operator fatigue and subsequently the risk of accidental damage, further enhance the cost efficiency of Linde forklifts.
‘Linde is proud to be a supplier of PPC de Hoek and congratulates them on recently receiving a further four H70D 396 series fork trucks,’ says Uys.
