The company, Fresh Unit Logistics, is owned by Peter Ndifon and Thandiwe Mesele.

And the good news for Serco is the company has ordered a further two of the fibreglass bodies – Which will be configured for use as a camera truck.

Ndifon explained that Fresh Unit Logistics specialised in rentals of various equipment, film logistics and location management, hiring out mobile facilities of all descriptions such as generators, toilets, diesel and water bowsers, light towers and unit equipment to the film and hospitality industries as well as to other sectors and the general public.

He said there were about 120 vehicles offering an exceptionally wide variety of facilities in the company’s modern fleet based in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

“It is the first time we have done business with Serco and are very happy with the end result.

“We supplied Serco with all the specs for the units we require and basically they provided us with the empty shells to specification. We then organised for the vehicles to be rigged out and kitted according to our clients’ specification and requirements,” he said.

“One of the new vehicles has been transformed into three-way artist facility with showers and toilets and the other into mobile offices.”

The vehicles will be hired out to film makers who use them to accommodate visiting movie stars and other players in the movie industry.

“We look forward to doing more business with Serco in the future,” added Ndifon.
