September welcomes back one of Cape Town’s most exciting motorsport occasions at Killarney Raceway, with the Time Attack powered by MD Motorsport a division of MasterDrive set to take place on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September. Cape Town’s exclusive official Time Attack promises heart-stopping action for anyone who appreciates speed, precision, and the exhilarating spectacle of drivers chasing every fraction of a second.

Time Attack is the first event of its kind on the African continent to be affiliated with Global Time Attack. Rather than following traditional wheel-to-wheel racing, drivers tackle the 2.2 km course solo. The coastal GM of MasterDrive, Gino Nourse, says: “The 20 to 30-second interval launches mean every competitor has a clear run and every spectator an unobstructed view of pure speed and driving skill, as each entrant chases the fastest possible time.

“The variety of vehicles on display is another highlight for spectators to anticipate. Including an impressive spread of machinery, from street cars and classic cars to modified race cars, single seaters, sports prototypes, and GT cars. This provides something for every kind of motoring enthusiast, whether one’s interest lies in classic engineering, cutting-edge performance builds, or full-blown race vehicles,” says Nourse.

The action unfolds along a route that showcases the character of Killarney itself. Vehicles run anticlockwise, starting midway down the back straight through Sarel’s Sweep, to Tygerberg straight, into Damps Dip, through the Killarney Kink, into Castrol corner, up the Joubert straight, into Hoals Hoek and onto Porsche straight before finishing. Spectators have a front-row seat to some of the circuit’s most dynamic sections.
