Two days left to enter the Fleet Safety Awards

There is still time to put your fleet’s safety story forward, but not much. Entries for the Fleet Safety Awards 2026 close on Friday, 16 October. This leaves just two days to submit your entry to be in the running to win your share of R250 000 in cash prizes.

The Prize Bonanza draw also stays open until entries close. New entries continue to go into a daily draw to win one of the valuable prizes on offer. Thirty minutes spent on a strong entry gives you several chances to win, both now and at the final ceremony.

For many, prize money ranging from R5 000 to the grand prize of R70 000 for one individual is life changing. The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says:

“That is enough to clear a debt, cover school fees or pay a deposit on a home. Few awards in the industry pair public recognition with prize money at this level, and the only cost of entry is a minimal time investment.

“Additionally, a significant portion of the prize money is designed to have a positive impact beyond the winning organisation. Prize money in categories such as Best Organisation and Most Improved Truck Stop is directed towards community initiatives and improvement projects. Winning entries can have an impact well beyond the company that submitted it”

Over the past week, everyone who completed an entry went into a daily lucky draw. Prizes already handed out, and still up for grabs, include:

  • A vehicle medical kit
  • Two R1 000 Takealot vouchers
  • A power bank
  • Wireless earphones
  • A vehicle phone holder with a multi-port charging cord
  • A fitness watch

Each winner earned their prize by completing one task: telling their safety story. Prizes were won by entrants from across the industry, and the winners simply completed their entries without waiting for the deadline.

Why waiting is the real risk

Why waiting is the real risk

The Managing Director of Commercial and Brand at MasterDrive, Nishani Chetty, says every year, opportunities are missed.

“Fleets that caught our attention with their safety efforts miss the chance to measure up against the rest of country’s strongest fleets because their entry is never submitted.

“A safety culture built carefully over time can go unrecognised because of this simple fact. These safety efforts deserve more than to be overlooked because of a missed deadline”

says Chetty.

Submit your entry today by simply relaying the information you already know well. The more specific and measurable your entry is, the higher it will score. Two days is enough time to finish an entry and secure your place in the Prize Bonanza draw as well.

Submit your entry at fleetsafetyawards.co.za/site/ before the deadline on Friday, 16 October at 23:59.
