Serco delivers on large order for Vital Distribution Solutions Fleet

Vital Distribution Solutions get another Serco delivery

Serco has delivered 70 refrigerated trucks to Vital Fleet, part of Vital Distribution Solutions, a large logistics company operating throughout southern Africa. Debi Dabner, Fleet Manager at Vital Fleet, said the new trucks brought to more than 100 the number of units her company had bought from Serco over the past three years, boosting Vital’s fleet to in excess of 500.

Vital transports a variety of goods for customers – big and small

Vital, which also has extensive warehousing capabilities, transports a variety of goods for customers – big and small – in South Africa and neighbouring countries. Company headquarters are in Johannesburg, with branches in Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Namibia and Botswana.

Dabner said the latest vehicle bodies from Serco meant Vital now offered an improved transport solution for cold-chain goods. “Secure transport from cold storage warehouses on to refrigerated trucks and straight to the customers’ facilities.” She said more business was in the pipeline for Serco.

Vital Distribution Solutions“We chose Serco to be our preferred supplier because we get excellent service from them and no comebacks with the trucks we ordered from them. They are very customer-orientated and committed, catering for our every need. “Vital is all about customer service. Our aim is to be among the top five distributing and warehousing companies in South Africa.”

Serco was able to build vehicles according to Vital’s specs

Clinton Holcroft, the Managing Director of Serco, said his company was very proud to be associated with Vital Distribution Solutions. “They are a relatively new customer of ours but have become very significant over a short space of time. “Serco was able to build vehicles according to Vital’s specs, providing several special build requirements and internal fittings.

The trucks were produced at our factories in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg, ensuring specifications and delivery commitments were all met. “It is important for us to build quality vehicles and deliver on time to ensure the success of our clients.”
